GIRL BENEATH THE SURFACE
ORIGINS
WARNING: The story of Aine's origin is directly tied to her life on earth in present day. Spoilers may and likely are present; proceed at own risk. As with the awakening, this is taken word for word from the Sailormoon Vengeance chronicle itself.
"They've breached the last lines!"
The call came from a lone infantryman, staggering toward the castle with a more detailed report. Brighid turned to her knight with a despondant look. "It's over, then. Word has to have reached the rest of the Outposts. Et'rhain, Neimin, Acheria, Iquillia...all our outer worlds have fallen."
Finn sighed, his eyes grim. "We can't give up hope, love." The elfin knight that had devoted his life to his princess tried to sound more assured and confident than he felt. "Mendhai still stands."
Brighid sighed, turning her eyes to the sky while the skirts of her white dress drifted in the winds, the pale green ribbons dancing at her waist. "I'm afraid..." she gasped suddenly. "Finn...oh, gods, no..." she pointed a suddenly shaking finger into the heavens.
Mendhai, their shadowed sister world, was falling. The planet was visible as a sphere in the heavens when their orbits crossed, and it was slowly shrouding in darkness...four months ahead of schedule.
Finn felt his heart drop. "Brighid, come here." He slipped one arm around her waist and pulled her in against him, mourning the loss. His best friend, Icarus, was the guardian of the Mendhaian princess, Mellissandre. The pair were dear friends of both Finn and Brighid, and Brighid was one of Mellissandre's two advisors. The other, Princess Illiandra of the outer world Anila, had already fallen. Brighid pressed her face into Finn's chest, weeping bitter tears for the loss of her friends and comrades...her sisters. Finn, though more stoic, couldn't keep the pain from his eyes. Their end was near, and much to his frustration, there wasn't a damn thing he could do about it. "I love you, Brighid," he murmured. "No matter what happens, don't forget that." And he tilted her chin upward, wiping the tears away and pressing a gentle kiss to her lips. After this, he bowed deeply to her, cast her one last, longing look, and leaped from ther terrace to go join his men in battle...a battle that he knew would claim them all.
Brighid watched him go, knowing full well she would never see him again in life. "And I you," she whispered. Brighid would remain on that terrace until the soldiers of the Dark God's army overpowered even her strength and stole her life away.
Darkness swirled madly on a world of light, hours afterward. Not a single living thing was left of the Airan people. The only lone figure that could be seen walking amidst the ruins was the patron god of the Airan world, Salmadh, God of Light. He reached the battlefield, stooping down and taking the broken body of the princess protector in his arms. His golden eyes looked sadly down on the lifeless boy, and he flickered, vanishing. Salmadh reappeared on the terrace of the castle where Brighid had given her life to try and keep the monsters from overrunning her last sanctuary, and laid Finn beside her. 'Irrin,' he murmured quietly, 'this cannot be. Our worlds must not be forgotten. The light must shine again.'
The quiet voice of the Mendhaian father God of all the Gods of all the worlds of the Mendhaian star came back to him from the heavens. 'And what would I do? The Starseed of the Mendhaian princess has shattered, releasing Chikatte into the universe.'
'Repair it.' Salmadh unknowingly echoed his sister god Zirriph's plea of only moments earlier. 'They must stand again to send Chikatte back to his hell.' The golden eyes were hard, his bright white hair dancing about his face as the shadows swirled around him in their futile attempts to destroy him. 'The soldiers of this universe don't have the power without our aid.'
'And yet we cannot interfere in the battles of mortal kin...no matter how noble they might be,' Irrin replied. 'The High Priest of my daughter's warrior sect raises an interesting proposal, however...to speak with the Lady Fate...Chikalle may be able to repair what her daughter's impulsiveness and her brother's insanity have shattered. Be patient, my son. It appears that we have...hope.'
Salmadh nodded, his golden eyes raised to the sky, then. 'Thank you, Father.' And then, turning his eyes back to the bodies of his fallen children, he simply waited. When the Starseeds that he could see within them flickered and vanished, he shimmered, becoming a tiny, pure white lion with eyes the same color as the pale green bows on Brighid's dress. Trotting his way up into the sky, Salmadh joined Zirriph and his brother Gods as they followed their charges to their new lives, new loves, new hopes...
New earth.
AWAKENINGS
WARNING: The story of Aine's awakening is taken word for word from the Sailormoon Vengeance chronicle itself; spoilers might be included, but if so, they are small in number and importance.
Keila stared. Nothing Andi, Duo, or Aerin had told her since she and Aerin had arrived could have ever prepared her for this. The creatures that seemed to be made of darkness were hunched down over Andi's fallen body, laughing dementedly as they examined her. One raised an arm into the air, the end of it forming into a needle-pointed spear. They drove it down into Andi's body, and when it was retracted, something sparkling with vivid blue light came with it.
That must be a Starseed, Keila thought, almost distractedly. Something about those creatures seemed almost...familiar. And then Keila realized it. Her memories...memories of who she once had been...were coming back. Duo had transformed automatically into the knight Icarus upon sensing Andi's predicament, and had just reached them with Aerin in tow, fighting with almost a dozen of the shadowy monstrosities. Aerin arrived only moments after, and when one of them lunged at Keila, he shouted, launching himself at it. In almost mid-air, he seemed to shimmer in bright, white light, and a figure garbed in the armor of a knight tackled the thing to the ground, slammed a hand into the thing's chest, and electrocuted it with a bolt of pure white lightning. He got to his feet, his white clothing almost too bright to look at, the white cape lined with green fluttering in the breeze. His dark hair floated with it, giving him an almost unearthly appearance.
And then Keila noticed the ears. No longer the usual, normal, rounded human ears, they were long and tapered...elfin? She felt so out of her element here...
The warrior Aerin had become hurried to her side. "The words, Keila...search for the words...inside, hurry. Andi needs your help."
Keila stared at him, dumbfounded. Words? What words? Her pulse quickened. "I don't know...I can't remember...help me, please!" she pled, and it was then that Zirriph, the phoenix Goddess, soared down out of the air, a long staff carried in her talons...a staff with a glaive's silver blade at the end. It was an intricately carved staff with jewels of diamond-sparkle and palest green shining in the blade and the staff. Zirriph let go of it and flew down to settle on Keila's shoulder. "Take your blade, child!" she crowed triumphantly. "Become the soldier of light and truth once more!"
The glaive floated serenely toward Keila's outstretched hand, and the shock that went through her when she touched it nearly made her knees buckle. In a flash, bits and pieces of another life were revealed to her mind, and she saw herself holding that selfsame glaive high into the air, a mark on her left hand, words shouted into the air, and a flash of light that left her garbed in white and green Sailor fuku.
The words seemed to flow like electricity down through Keila from head to toe, and then she shouted them out somehow instinctively, holding her glaive high in the air: "Virtue's Light, Protect Me!" she cried, and the same flash of light encircled her, leaving her clothed in Sailor fuku once more.

ATTACK SPECS
Shards of Light :: An unlimited of bright, glowing shards she can call forth using the power of the Aisha'nura. Not only do these shards bear razor sharp edges, but they're made directly from sunlight and will burn away any trace of evil they come in contact with until there's nothing left but purified ash. Standard-level Senshi attack.
Solar Blade Piercing :: The blade of Sailoraine's glave glows, charged by the power of the sun itself. When at full power, this attack has enough heat and light to burn away any shadow it touches, whether that shadow belongs to a demon or is just a normal shadow. This attack, oddly enough, is fueled only by Aine's desire to protect. The more she fears for her loved ones, the stronger the glaive's charge will be.
Souls Rise Purified :: This attack actually turns a youma's host against it. Aine's power calls forth the soul of any innocent that has been taken over by one of Chikatte's demons, forcing the demon's spirit from the host body and making it come out into the open. If this is during daylight, it's automatic death for the demon, since sunlight is fatal to them. If during the night hours, then it gives the rest of the Senshi a perfect opportunity to destroy the creature before it can escape. Non-standard level Senshi attack.

NOTES
Appendix A - Three-fold Goddess/Brighid :: The "Shining Blade of Power," is a Airan three-fold goddess, the daughter of Ciouuhaneh, and the wife of Shuaghnad. Known by many names, Brighid's three aspects are (1) Fire of Inspiration as patroness of poetry, (2) Fire of the Hearth, as patroness of healing and fertility, and (3) Fire of the Forge, as patroness of smithcraft and martial arts. She is mother to the craftsmen - Dubhadh, the poet, Miraedh, the healer, and Iraiaedh, the metalsmith. On Aira, to give the princess this name was to bestow on her a blessing of long life, happiness, and prosperity. Unfortunately, this was not to be so during the current cycle. When the armies of evil overran the world of Aira, Brighid cast a final prayer to the gods and went herself into battle, wielding the silver-bladed glaive "Aisha'nura". Her last thoughts were for the welfare of her people, and it was this princess's purity that gave Chikalle, Lady of Destiny, the inspiration to take the souls of each warrior of each world's protectors and send them to Earth's future for their own benefit. Brighid, the princess, was also part of a royal trinity of the three innermost planets of the Mendhaian solar system, and one of two advisors to the reigning monarch of Mendhai itself, Mellissandre.[

Appendix B - Aira :: The second innermost world of the Mendhaian star system could almost be considered the innermost world due to it's near-perfect circular orbit around their white dwarf star. The only reason it ranks second is because during the light half of Mendhai's orbit, it comes closer to the sun than Aira does. Aira is a world of light. Named the literal word for "Of the skies", Aira is a world of light. The world boasts a cultural history rich with eons of peacful existance one country with another, due to the lasting efforts of one warrior, Aine, who helped draft a treaty between the three main countries during a war many millennia before. Aine was revered as a hero and the treaty still stands to this day in his honor. [see appendix c for details] Aira has one reigning monarch over the entire world, and the heir to the throne is sent to Mendhai, the sister planet, to become an advisor to the current princess of the Mendhaian line. Mendhaian royalty is always female; an unbroken line of queens has stood for the past million years since the Mendhaian pact with their gods. The princess of Aira is sent to be the Mendhaian advisor for ten years, tutored and trained while on that world, and then sent back at the age of twenty-eight to take the throne of Aira. This is the Airan way of keeping good terms with her sister world, and is a tradition that has been in standing for thousands and thousands of years. Peace is the reigning force on Aira, and the happy inhabitants rarely have anything to complain of. Their yearly festival to celebrate Aine's world-saving peace treaty is an event attended by delegates from every world in their solar system and something heard of and spoken of across the stars.[

Appendix C - Aine/Name Origin :: The Sailoraine, the Sailorsenshi responsible for the protection of Aira and its people, was named after a legendary Airan hero who, through a mixture of brute force and cunning tactical skill, managed to talk three delegates from the three largest continents on Aira into having peace talks just one week before they began the disastrous attacks upon each other's lands that would have resulted in a before-unheard-of holocaust on the innocent people of Aira. With a little help from his second in command, Finn, Aine worked the peace talks to a successful close, drafted a treaty, and got the three warring nations to sign, beginning an ages-long era of peace that has lasted to this exact day.[
top]
Appendix D - Salmadh :: The animal guide, Salmadh, didn't always exist in this form. Salmadh was the God of Light on Brighid's homeworld of Aira. When Chikatte's armies overran the planet and killed the inhabitants, Salmadh's plea joined that of Zirriph, Mendhaian Goddess of War. He joined his sister Goddess when she accompanied the souls of her children, and now guides Aerin and Keila through the process of finding their old memories and identities, and is a wise, gentle companion with limitless patience and love for his children. [

Appendix E - Silver-Bladed Glaive, "Aisha'nura" :: Sailoraine's silver-bladed scythe, Aisha'nura, is a gift from the gods themselves, one of two counterparts to the Mendhaian blade Aisha'avari. Aisha'nura [pronounced "ah-ee-shah noo-rah"], translates in the Airan language to "Life Light". It's a fitting name considering that this blade is a treasured gem and protector of life and innocence all over Aira's surface. The name has even more significance when Sailoraine and the rest of the Mendhaian Senshi are reborn on Earth - Aisha'nura counters the dark half of the Aisha'avari's power, keeping it pure for the defense of the innocent. Aine herself is also a balance to the light half of Abraxas' power, and they can build vast attack power from this balance, making them a deadly pair...and even more deadly when combined with their third member, Sailorzephyr and the Aisha'damu, the silver-bladed scythe.[
